Golden Gate Casino Review

In a town full of big glitz and glamor, the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas stands as a testament to the long and exciting history of this landmark city. What the Golden Gate lacks in size, however, it makes up for in atmosphere, and for a true experience of Vegass past and present, be sure and work this treasure of downtown into your travel plans.

Appearance

Youll feel like youve traveled back in time when you step into the Golden Gate, with its intimate, friendly casino and meticulously preserved original wood fixtures and dcor.

Plus, with a couple of the best restaurants downtown and its close proximity to the world famous Fremont Street Experience, the Golden Gate has everything that its larger, flashier counterparts have while remaining an assuming mainstay of Vegas tourism.

Dining

There may only be two eateries at the Golden Gate, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality. The San Francisco Shrimp Bar & Deli offers some of the best food in townin fact, The Golden Gate is said to have introduced the shrimp cocktail to Las Vegas back in 1956 and has been serving its specialty ever since to satisfied customers. For even more traditional dining favorites, the Golden Gate also features the Bay City Diner.

Gambling

For the gambler, this little casino is a real live gambling joint for the ages. At only 9,100 square feet, theres still plenty of betting action to be had, with Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let It Ride, Poker, Roulette, and all your favorite Slots. Theres also a cozy 10-seat Race and Sports Book with four televisions. Adding to the feel of the place, theres a live piano player at the bar.

Rates

When you decide to visit Las Vegas, theres always a temptation to go with the biggest resort that offers the most sparkle and glitter. The Golden Gate Hotel in Las Vegas may not be the fanciest or the biggest in town, but it offers comfortable, affordable accommodations for the traveler seeking to soak up the history of the town and enjoy a memorable vacation.

Room rates start at $45 and can go up to $140.
